Harwell Document Restoration Services will be running a course on salvage
techniques for archivists and records managers in Manchester on March 17th
2009. The program will focus on the successful implementation of disaster
plans, with guidance on triage, handling, restoration options, damage area
control and adaptation of approaches in major incidents. The course will
involve practical exercises working in an area of the Manchester Museum. The
course will run 10.30 - 4.30 with all refreshments and materials provided. The
cost of attending the course will be £199 for Priority Users and £299 (+ VAT)
for non-Priority Users, with a 5% discount for those organisations booking two
or more places.
This highly popular course is likely to fill up quickly as places are limited due to
the practical nature of the course, so please register your place as soon as
possible at http://www.hdrs.co.uk/salvagecourse.html. Invoices can be sent
out either before March 31st or after April 1st to fit in with budget
requirements for year-end, where applicable.
For any non-Priority User, the cost of joining the Priority User Service for a
year and the discounted course fee is only £347 + VAT (£48 more than the
non PU course fee), so it is well worth it. Register for the course first, and tick
the Priority User box and you will be contacted to complete the Priority User
registration process.
