Dear All,
We have recently received the following message from the PSA:
"The Political Studies Association will once again be holding a Specialist
Activities Funding Competition for specialist groups this year. Groups may bid
for up to £2,000 (in addition to the basic funding they have already applied for
from the Association) to fund a special event or activity (such as a one-off
conference or seminar commemorating a specific event or individual), although
other more innovative ideas are also welcome.
The competition entries will be judged by the PSA's Specialist Groups
Subcommittee who will award the additional funding to the best bids. Groups
wishing to enter should submit a proposal (there is no form), giving details of
how they would spend the additional funding and why the sub-committee
should consider their bid. A detailed breakdown of proposed expenditure must
be included. The closing date for entries is 2nd March 2009. The sub-
committee will judge the winning entries as soon as possible thereafter.
Recipients of this extra funding will be required to contribute a piece about
their event/project to PSA News."
If any of you were thinking of putting together a special one-off event this
year, we would be happy to consider putting it forward as the proposal of the
Women and Politics Specialist Group. Could anyone who is interested please
contact Rainbow Murray ([log in to unmask]) or Marc Calvini-Lefebvre
([log in to unmask]) by 15 Feb with their proposals, following
as closely as possible the guidelines above. We will study the proposal(s) and
get back to everyone by 25 February.
Best wishes,
Rainbow and Marc
