For famous librarians
I've noticed that quite a few people who have done other things, refer
to themselves as librarians in the dust covers of books.
Of course, ulrls destroys all the book covers, simply to make it all
more difficult, but they can't do that with paperbacks, which is how I
discovered that Bataille called himself a librarian, or someone else
called him one.
A quick look at Wikipedia showed me we have a sort of famous Belgians or
viola jokes problem.
The matter then divides into two classes, those who have made a
contribution to the core concepts of the discipline, if we knew what
those were, and my mark would be cat&class;
And those who have made a matter elsewhere, obliquely, for Bataille
seems to me to be dealing with matters of cat&class in the book I was
searching for, which isn't on the flaying of marsyas, for some strange
reason.
I'd like to begin a dossier on the contributions to the organisation of
knowledge, since I probably can't use the concept information systems,
so Bataille will be the first case. He will be followed by Ranganathan,
who is the most recent new thinker I suspect, but I'll include both
Fosketts.
If anyone wants to propose someone, please let me know.
This will possibly appear on wetpaint, which seems to be one of the more
usable tools I've come across recently.
