Dear Allstat,

Senior SAS Statistical Programmer - Central London - Competitive Salary + Bonus + Car Allowance + Benefits
SEC has been retained by a major pharmaceutical client to source motivated SAS programming professionals with expertise in the provision of Statistical Programming deliverables within the clinical trials environment.
Our client is a highly successful pharmaceutical organisation with a profitable product portfolio and strong research pipeline. The company currently has key marketed products within the oncology, endocrinology, cardiovascular and gastro-intestinal therapeutic areas. Full details of the client and location are available on application.
The Role
The purpose of this position is to provide program-level statistical programming expertise by:
* Designing and executing analysis deliverables to meet the requirements of clinical studies.
* Managing and enforcing standards for derived datasets and analysis outputs to maximize global data integration.
* Directing the work of external vendors providing statistical programming services to achieve quality and timely, cost-effective study deliverables
The Statistical Programming team has a significant focus on managing the deliverables provided by CRO's on outsourced projects but are increasingly retaining projects in-house in line with team growth and capability. The ongoing strategy for the team is to have increased capabilities to run projects within the team. The role will therefore involve a combination of working on outsourced and in-house studies.
The team demographic is international, the team ethic is very strong within this department and the successful candidate is expected to be an excellent team player and a capable communicator. Innovation is strongly encouraged within the team and the role will involve a degree of process and technical improvement activities.
The company has developed a global SAS environment over the last 18 months making use of the new technologies within the SAS system, specifically DI Studio. Although experience in new SAS technologies is an advantage, it is not essential. However there will be a steep learning curve anticipated for the successful candidate in developing the requisite understanding of the SAS environment and Reporting System.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will be confident and capable SAS Programmer specifically regarding the deliverables involved on clinical trials. Prior experience working within a pharmaceutical company and managing CRO deliverables is advantageous, significant experience working as a SAS Programmer within the CRO, Pharmaceutical or Biotech industries is essential. A minimum BSc qualification in a relevant discipline (computer science, life science or statistics) is also required.
My client is expanding its operations in the UK and with this expansion comes significant opportunities for new employees. You will be rewarded with an excellent starting salary and comprehensive benefits package including a significant annual bonus and company car allowance. You will embark on a continuous program of personal and professional development and will become an important and influential member in the clinical development activities of the organisation globally.
