A group of women are trying to do something on Saturday in London in
terms of a vigil – perhaps n-going – at the women in world war II
memorial to commemorate the women and children being killed and maimed
in Gaza (and Israel) by aggression. During the Gulf War that a group of
women kept a continuous vigil on Whitehall that was seemingly low key
but very effective. Plans are yet to be firmed up but details will be
available from:
Andrea Campbell - [log in to unmask]
Jil Cove – [log in to unmask]
When: Saturday 10th January around 2:30 to meet up.
Where: Meeting place to be confirmed. We would plan to meet somewhere
near the memorial and then walk up together.
What to bring: Small bunch of flowers (white if possible) with a note
attached about them being in memory of women and children of Gaza and
Israel killed by latest conflict. Also bring cameras so we can record it
and hopefully get some publicity.
What else to do Please email any women contacts you have who you think
may come. Ask them to email me or Jil for details of the venue for
meeting up
There is also a Stop the War Coalition march that day but we don't think
it will be going near Whitehall so we should be able to get access to
the memorial.
