The novel I have written and am now attempting to revise, Swindle Book
One, operates as a type of ficto-criticism which also provides an
analysis of the international drug trade. Large multinational
corporations benefit from the drug trade in various ways and so have an
interest in developing and maintaining the illicit drug trade. This can
be reflected in the ways large multinational corporations actively
oppose political attempts to legalise drugs through various lobby fronts
and foundations, since they benefit more so from an illicit trade.
Alfred McCoy's book on the way the CIA also actively encouraged and
developed the global drug trade makes for some chilling reading.
