EURO XXII Conference Bonn 5-8 July 2008
Stream Co-organisers: Alberto Franco (Warwick) and Gilberto Montibeller (LSE)
We would like to invite you to submit a title/abstract or propose a session for consideration in the Facilitated Decision Modelling Stream at EURO XXIII, Bonn 5-8 July 2008. The stream welcomes contributions from researchers and practitioners engaged in the development and/or use of facilitated modelling approaches to organisational intervention. We define Facilitated Modelling as an approach to modelling where the operational researcher works both as an analyst and as a facilitator throughout the intervention, from helping the client to structure and define the nature of the problem situation of interest, to supporting the evaluation of priorities and development of plans for subsequent implementation. Presentations of particular interest may include, but are not limited to:
1. The process of facilitated modelling, e.g. top-down and bottom up approaches to facilitated modelling.
2. Facilitation skills for problem structuring, systems modelling and decision analysis interventions.
3. Computer support technology for facilitated modelling.
4. Novel applications of facilitated modelling.
5. Evaluation of facilitated modelling interventions.
We currently have 6 invited sessions within the stream:
S1. Facilitated Decision Analysis, Chair: Nadia Papamichail ([log in to unmask]), University of Manchester,
S2. Facilitated Problem Structuring, Chair: Giles Hindle ([log in to unmask]), University of Warwick
S3. Facilitated Strategy Making, Co-Chairs: Fran Ackermann ([log in to unmask]) & Colin Eden, University of Strathclyde.
S4. Group Model Building, Chair: Etienne Rouwette ([log in to unmask]), Radboud University Nijmegen.
S5. Understanding Facilitated Modelling Interventions, Chair: Leroy White ([log in to unmask]), University of Bristol
S6. Bridging the gap between qualitative problem structuring and quantitative decision analysis, Chair: Pekka Leskinen ([log in to unmask]), Finnish Environment Institute
If you want to organise a new session within our stream, please contact us directly. If you want to give a presentation within any of the existing sessions, please contact the appropriate session chair directly. Alternatively, you can visit the conference website and submit your abstract online (http://www.euro-2009.de).
