Hello Sian - writing to their respective GP's so that information regarding
the exposure is held on their GP records is another measure you might
consider - also I think the HSE has produced standard information on the
matter that you might want to give to the employee as back up to your
conversation with them while performing baseline record keeping/lung
function/respiratory screeining questionnaire etc - sorry - haven't got a
link but maybe someone else on the list does.
Jon

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Accidental asbestos exposure
Hi list,
I have been asked to do some follow-up for a group of engineers who were
accidentally exposed to asbestos during a maintenance procedure at the
weekend. I am not sure what to suggest, I have already said that anything I
do is likely to be placebo rather than actually picking up or preventing any
problems. The company are keen for me to do something (I managed to
restrain them from calling in doctors and chest x-rays). Does anyone have
any
suggestions apart from questionnaire/lung function test/nice chat with the
nurse?
All ideas gratefully received, thanks
Siān
