We use @ Source a company based in Lincolnshire. The Service they provide is fantastic and the ear plugs are of a good quality. They will come in and mould for you. The cost is about £65 per pair.
In fact they are coming in this week to do the whole of our factory as our trial of 75 people was so successful.
Contact me off list if you want their contact details
Kind Regards

The company we used at my previous place of employment was called EMTEC from
Downtown, Nr. Shrewsbury, Shropshire. They came to the factory and each opo
was fitted with a pair. They were individually made for each person by
taking a wax impression of the ear canal. It is quite painless. The plugs
were delivered some ten days later. The plugs void all extraneous noise
except the voice. They cost between £50 and £60 a pair and were guaranteed
for ten years I believe, against loss or breakage. I had a pair I wore in
a noisy slaughterhouse, I still have them. They are small, comfortable to
wear, being made of a soft plastic type of material, and they worked. They
are hygienic because they cannot be shared and of course they are washable.
I recommend them.
There is also a Dutch company that makes them in a ceramic material but the
opus who had these felt they were less comfortable and they were a great
deal more expensive.
If they are still in business, EMTEC's 'phone number is 01743 709 480
Good luck
Jay

musicians have specialised ear plugs at about £200 per pair( or at least
they were) but you need to speak to the companies who produce these

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] customised hearing protection
Hi
I am in the process of dealing with a group of tree surgeons and hearing
preservation! (muffs are attached to helmet)helmets have straps around the
ears to hold the helmet on and some a plastic joint holding two straps
together so the ear muffs do not seal well and one bloke wears specs!
The guy up the tree (has to be the specs wearer for added difficulty!!!)
needs
to hear instruction from below, he has a chain saw on tick over (no the
chain
doesnt turn...so it is safe) but the manufacturer of the saw states 89db so
needs to have his ear muffs on when the saw is running..allegedly...given
that
the instruction from below may be a simple shout....does anyone know if the
customised hearing protection is any use for hearing instruction?
plugs are no good due to mucky hands and being up a tree... dropped plug
makes rude words and pockets are full of tree dust!
i have suggested that he contacts a manufacturer of customised plugs but
does anyone know if these allow speech/shouts through?to save the in out
thing?
Jacqui
