Subject: Spare places on free Benchmarks course
I have been passed your name by Jane Henderson from Cardiff University. She
is running a course on Benchmarks for us at our offsite store. This is part
of our RAW (Renaissance At Work) collection care course programme which we
run from BMAG.
We currently have a number of spare places free, they have been offered
regionally with a limited take up. They are available to anyone working in
museums in the West Midlands Renaissance region (West Mids, Staffs,
Worcestershire, Herefordshire), but as we are a few places spare, Jane
suggested offering them to yourselves? There are 8 places free.
The course is to be held at the MCC (Museum Collection Centre) here in
Birmingham on the 6th January from 10 till 4, there is lots of parking
onsite and it is easily accessible by train (Ive attached a map with
instructions for train travel too). Lunch will be provided and a tour of
the stores is included as part of the course. The MCC currently holds about
90% of our stored collections, so its a really good opportunity to see a
large open store.
If anyone is interested could they let me know as soon as possible?
Many thanks
Clare
