Hi All
I am trying to trace a James Daniel.
He was awarded the Royal Cornwall Poly. Soc. Medal for Surveying , the King Edward VII London Guild Mining Medal and the Miners Association of Devon & Cornwall Medal - all in 1904. In 1908 he was in South Africa and it is recorded that he studied at the Redruth School of Mines.
The medals were recently on Ebay from SA and one can assume that he must have remained there for much or all of his life.
I am guessing that he 'graduated' in 1904 as the top student and these medals were some of his prizes.
Can anyone fill in any gaps?
Regards
Tony Brooks
