At the University of Brighton we're taking a fresh look at how we handle
electronic reading lists. Some staff feel the amount of work involved in putting
the lists up electronically (so they are searchable via the library catalogue and
via our VLE) is not reflected in take-up by students.
Before we make any decisions, we'd welcome your views on any of the
following:
Do your students/academic staff use them?
Have you had any feedback?
Roughly how much time do library staff spend on the lists?
What grade (professional/clerical) of library staff are involved?
If you've abandoned them, have you provided an alternative?
Do you have any tips for better promoting e-reading lists?
Do you use the lists for other purposes (eg stock management)?
Many thanks in advance for your responses.
I'll summarise to the list.
