I've never understood how this can be done in the general case, and I
still don't. Your average WebDAV client doesn't have a user interface that
can render the username/password prompts that are necessary (in practise,
if not in theory) to establish a Shibboleth authentication so it's never
going to be able to access a Shib-protected WebDAV server. My suspicion in
this case is that for this use case the 'WebDAV client' is uPortal and
somehow the uPortal web environment is supplying the authentication, but
I'd welcome an explanation of how it works if someone knows better.
_Real_ Shibboleth for WebDAV is something of a holy grail as far as I can
see - if someone knows how to provide it in the general case then I'd love
to know too!
