To complete a short-term post in the School of Psychology, affiliated to the Institute of Neuroscience <http://www.ncl.ac.uk/ion/> . You will work on a project funded by the Nuffield Foundation exploring the nature of attention mechanisms used by individuals with the genetic disorder Williams syndrome (WS).
You will investigate the genetic disorder, as well as the implication of these mechanisms for the way individuals attend to face and non-face stimuli. You will travel to test individuals with WS and children who are developing typically on a number of short and fun tasks run using E-Prime software.
You will have a good degree in Psychology or a related discipline and experience of undertaking psychological research. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential. You must be available to start the post from February 2009 and will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check. It would be advantageous but not essential to be familiar with E-Prime software.
Tenable for 3 months.
