Job Title GIS Technician
Grade Grade G (£20,111-£22,009)

Advert:-
We are looking to recruit a technician to our GIS team who will assist with the
varied requirements of a large Planning & Transport Department. The post
holder will report to the Senior GIS Technician. The successful candidate will
be a team player and have a commitment to customer service. The post holder
will be educated to degree level in GIS or a directly related subject with
knowledge and experience in using ESRI Desktop products. A postgraduate
degree in GIS, with experience in planning or a GIS related field is desirable.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with appropriate work experience
and qualifications to start a career in GIS. The successful applicant will be
required to work in an environment of increasing demand for GIS resources and
as such good communication skills and the ability to work accurately under
pressure are essential qualities. The ability to manipulate databases for use
within GIS and to produce plans and statistics are an essential part of the
post. Understanding the use and development of databases, preferably MS
Access is desirable.
