The Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference (GECCO-2009) will
present the latest high-quality results in the growing field of
genetic and evolutionary computation.
Topics include: genetic algorithms, genetic programming, evolution
strategies, evolutionary programming, real-world applications,
learning classifier systems and other genetics-based machine learning,
evolvable hardware, artificial life, adaptive behavior, ant colony
optimization, swarm intelligence, biological applications,
evolutionary robotics, coevolution, artificial immune systems, and
more.

There are a number of great events planned within GECCO-2009 besides
standard technical sessions. These events include
- Student party at Thomson House Pub, operated by the Graduate
Students Association of McGill University.
- Social event with dinner and birthday cake at Bevedere Hall,
Montreal Science Centre, a spectacular setting offering a
remarkable panorama of Old Montreal, the Old Port and the St.
Lawrence River from its terrace.
- Poster session and hors d'oeuvre reception.
- Art exhibition.
- 3rd Annual Job Shop.
TUTORIALS
GECCO-2009 will feature more than 40 high-quality tutorials by
leading researchers in their fields. There will be both introductory
and advanced tutorials.
COMPETITIONS
GECCO-2009 will house several competitions:
- 6th Annual HUMIES Awards for human-competitive results produced
by genetic and evolutionary computation ($10,000 in prizes)
