Dear Sir/ Madam
A series of “Vibrating Wire Type Piezometers” have been installed in rock in one our Dam Projects in Iran. Current readings shows negative pressures ranging from [-160 to -120] Kpa.
When the reason of such odd measurements was questioned from Iran Representative Company, their experts formally claimed;” these instruments have been calibrated for positive pressures and any negative pressure measurements refer to a dry environment”.
In their opinion the negative measured values could not be trusted, and there is no difference between [-10 or -120] Kpa in this specific case.
Now we wonder how much that factory confirms such a claim about this type of instrument.
While we are grateful for your generous assistance in advance.
