Hi Nick,
When I worked at Sheffield City Council I developed an accessible
counter for both staff and customers in their cashier hall as a part of
a One-stop shop. I don't know if its still in place but you could try
talking to the current Access Officer there who is Brian Messider.
It was developed with a company called CSI working with the local Access
Group and the staff to design the desk, (using cardboard cut-outs and
polystyrene). I enclose a copy of a photo of the finished desk plus a
copy of their brochure showing how they took the design and incorporated
it into their standard desk types.
It's not perfect but was considered a good all round design at the time.
Brian may be able to give some better feedback though

Subject: Counters in Banks
Good morning,
Is there any information/documentation anywhere relating to making bank
counters/tellers accessible? for example providing a lowered counter.
I have plenty of info on ATMs but nothing relating to the interior of
banks.
could any point me in the right direction?
Cheers
