The term you're after is GIS, Geographic Information Systems. It basically
starts with knowing your own address, or postcode, or X and Y co-ordinates
from a map. X and Y co-ords can be got from Streetmap.co.uk or most online
mapping sites, just by typing in your address or postcode. [Or you could use
a map.]
If you have those bits of info, everything can be generated from there.
GeoRSS is a further leap onwards from this, a technology that allows
location data to be encapsulated as part of an RSS feed. It's neat. Tht's
the next step that'll get your site pinged by the LBS people. [LBS -
location based services]
All of these things are part of the next world of the web - in the future,
everything will be digitally situated(placed), from my town, through my
table to my television - and my history and memories.

Subject: GPRS tagging / codes
How can I quickly and easily find out the GPRS / geocode for my location?
If I use this code on my website will my website get picked up by apps like
'Near Me' and 'Around Here'?
