Apologies for mailing this to the whole group...
I am the manager of a project called Their Past Your Future Scotland. This is part of a UK-wide initiative, funded by the Big Lottery and led by the Imperial War Museum.
In Scotland, we are developing a website which, when fully launched in 2010, will - hopefully! - be a fantastic online learning resource for teachers and students, focussing on the effects of war and conflict on people in Scotland. Can I point you in the direction of our new website, www.tpyfscotland.org.uk Here you will find lots of information about the TPYF Scotland initiative and what we're hoping to achieve by 2010.
Please note, this website is an 'interim' website - and is meant as much more of a communication device between the (10, potentially 14) museums who are involved in the initiative. However, can I bring your attention to the Online Exhibition within www.tpyfscotland.org.uk This is an example of what we hope the participating museums and galleries will contribute to the final website. Each museum / gallery will create between 10 and 20 of these mini-exhibitions on different themes. Each mini-exhibition will include at least one oral history and will be illustrated by assets drawn from personal, local and national collections. Depending on copyright permissions, these assets may be downloadable for use on personal computers and mobile devices. So, in strictest terms, there will be downloadable resources and assets, rather than structured podcasts.
The resources here have been gathered from a previous TPYF Scotland project in 2005. It is hoped that the final website, will host up to 300 mini-exhibitions.
We are working closely with Glow - the new Scottish Schools Digital Network, developed by Learning Teaching Scotland - and will employ a password function called Shibboleth. In this way, teachers logging into the TPYF Scotland website via Glow will be recognised as teachers and will be allowed greater access to the assets and resources (ie will be able to download them for use in the classroom). There will also be a password / login system for educational establishments outwith the Glow network.
I hope that information is useful! Any questions, please give me a shout on 00 (44) 131 550 4143 or email me at [log in to unmask]

Subject: World War II Podcasts
Hello,
Does anyone have any narrative/historical related British WWII podcasts?
Some schools have been asking me for this type of media from the British
perspctive and I can't find any files like this on my podcast directory.
Any information would be very helpful.
Thank you,
Kurt Stuchell
