We invite applications for PhD studentships in public health research within
the newly established Centre for Diet and Activity Research (CEDAR), a UKCRC
funded Centre of Excellence in Public Health Research. The Centre is a
collaboration between Medical Research Council (MRC) units in Cambridge and
the Universities of Cambridge and East Anglia and is hosted by the Institute
of Public Health in Cambridge.
Subscribers to this mailing list are most likely to be interested in one
specific three-year studentship, based at the MRC Epidemiology Unit in
Cambridge, on the effects of interventions to promote walking and cycling as
part of the iConnect programme (www.trg.soton.ac.uk/iconnect and
www.iconnect.ac.uk), a multicentre interdisciplinary study of the Sustrans
Connect2 programme of investment in walking and cycling infrastructure which
is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
This studentship will focus on measuring, evaluating and understanding the
impacts of the interventions on active travel, physical activity and public
health.
For further information about the Centre, the studentships available, the
eligibility criteria and how to apply, please visit
www.mrc-epid.cam.ac.uk/cedar. For further information about the iConnect
