it might be also worth thinking about the "pre-curator" time, where
curating was not yet established as a discipline as such. I would like
to think of what it means to 'initiate conversations', to set up
discursive sites, which moves across a PARTICULAR professionalism.
Reference might be Gordon Matta-Clark's FOOD restaurant (1971).
It's interesting though and I think important to sustain the diversity
in thinking about artist/curator. Each project is different and might
require different agency. The process of this and its discussion should
be part, should be inherent to the project in the public. How to make
methods transparent without taking over the work?
On this point I agree with Geoff on a certain redundancy of the terms as
such, the languages we use for describing modes of actions that cross.
If mentioning artist, curator, ethics, I wonder where, and how, the idea
of ethics in the sense of expressing forms of "otherness" comes in
beside of the restriction with regard to 'terms', and in relation to the
socio-political sphere attributed to all? current art projects.
