Dear all, it's my first time in the mailing list. Hope it works :)
I have converted all my DICOM images using a third party software.
After preprocessing and analyzing around 15 subject I discovered the
left and right sides are inverted. Therefore the results I get are all
in the opposite side. My boss told me this can be resolved simply by
multiplying X to -1 in the results. I don't know if this is correct
(maybe normalizing was also affected as left and right hemisphere may
not be equal in the EPI.nii template I use to normalize). However,
taking for good all the preprocessing, can I swap left and right in
all pre-processed images ? I need to estimate again all subjects'
designs for another reason and thought this is the right moment to
correct the problem.
I am trying to figure this out myself. In theory should be enough
multiplying the x coordinates with -1 in all images, but I cannot find
an easy procedure for this in SPM.
Any insight is welcome (also about the effects of swapped sides in normalizing).
P.s. I don't use coregister or segmentation. I simply normalize all
the images to the EPI template calculating the parameters from the
comparison of the EPI with one of the volumes.
Best regards.
Dorian.
