I've been looking through the MathWorks site for help here, but haven't found
anything promising that relates to Matlab 7.6. I would suggest looking
through the MATLAB system requirements to make sure your computers, operating
systems and libc are suitable for MATLAB 7.6:

Sometimes though, you can achieve extra stability by turning the MATLAB
Accelerator off with the following command, and then execute your program:
feature accel off
