Hi,

I am 3 year student of Photography. Me and my colleges created a contemporary
photographic group called Tectonic Ballroom.
We quite dynamic, young photographers who want to be heard and recognise. Our
work many often consist installations, we are interested in braking
the rule of this what conventional in photography. In about 2weeks we are
organising our first Site-Specific Exhibition in worn down but beautiful,
antique and full of dark corridors Shoreditch Tawn Hall Basement. We are
looking for help with promoting our event. I am attaching the rough
exhibition flyer, and would like to ask if we can be listed with our event,
on you mailing list.
Many Thanks
barbara bargiel

My dears,

Bien?

OK:

Women, mostly, this month:

Courtesy of temporarycontemporary's Event Horizon, here is a video of
Georgina Starr (we all love Georgina, no? I do)

Georgina Starr, FLESH, 30 October 2008 - 19 January 2009

s/event-horizon/ <http://t.ymlp52.com/ejejaiaujbazaumwjafahme/click.php> )

and then there's Ellie Harrison (we all like her too)

Two Months Left of Tea Blog

Since 1 January 2006, British artist Ellie Harrison has been maintaining the
web-based project Tea Blog
<http://t.ymlp52.com/ejebazaujbafaumwjarahme/click.php> . Every time she
drinks a cup of tea or another hot drink she notes down a snippet of what she
is thinking about and uploads it to the blog. There are now well over 1,500
thoughts archived online, which chronicle the last three years of the
artist's life via her tea-drinking habits. Tea Blog
<http://t.ymlp52.com/ejebazaujbafaumwjarahme/click.php> is now entering its
final two months and is due to end at midnight on 31 December 2008.

And of course, there's Susanne Feinbaum!

No, me neither, until I got this sent me:

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, I am in the process of researching the Austrian artist
and musician Susanne Feinbaum. For anyone who didn't, or would like to know
more about her, a brief, and surprisingly accurate, overview can be found on:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susanne_Feinbaum

Phoebe and I have managed to acquire permission to re-release some From Point
and Line to Plane with the next issue of the Coelacanth Journal (No.2:
Hysteria: Winter 2008), and there is also a possibility that, should we
generate enough interest from this, that we may then be able to stage a small
exhibition of her paintings some time next year.

An unfortunate combination of modesty, analog-technology and unfair neglect,
has resulted very little of Susanne's oeuvre being available to the public.
Many of her recordings have only ever been released as limited-edition vinyl,
while the majority of her paintings are in private collections. Consequently
I am doing everything I can to make what little is out there accessible, and
have uploaded recently uploaded the From Point and Line to Plane video to
youtube:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SpfSofGZrwU
<http://t.ymlp52.com/ejehapaujbacaumwjagahme/click.php>

If you have a youtube account then please rate or 'favourite' it, and if you
know anyone who might be able to play it, either on the radio or even just at
a party then please do pass it on!

Thanks, Susan Finlay

Go on, favourite it!

MY BOTTOM BIT

SALON 08 - Open Exhibition at VINEspace, Vyner St, East London

Deadline : 7th November, 2008

Salon 08 is an annual open submission exhibition produced by Matt Robert Arts
in collaboration with East London's most exciting venues. It offers the
opportunity to present your work to a prestigious selection comittee of
artists and arts professionals, and if selected to engage with the excitement
of the London art market.

This year's selection panel will consist of:

Andrea Tarsia: Head of Exhibitions and Projects at the Whitechapel Gallery

Cath Ferguson: Artist, writer, and lecturer

Kate Jones: Art collector, and patron

In 2007 the exhibition involved 86 artists, and received over 800 visitors.
This year we are delighted to be working in partnership with VINEspace, a
vibrant young gallery, located on the internationally renowned Vyner Street.

With Salon 08 we fully expect to achieve even greater success. Salon 08 will
open on Thursday 4th of December with the exhibition remaining open until
Sunday 21st December. Accepted media: painting, drawing, sculpture,
photography, and installation. A small administration fee of £6 is necessary
before applications can be processed.

For full application details please email [log in to unmask]
<mailto:[log in to unmask]>

The Deadline for submissions is 5pm, 07/11/08
Visit www.mattroberts.org.uk
<http://t.ymlp52.com/ejqmafaujbadaumwjacahme/click.php> for further
information.

The TOP 100 is an open submission art exhibition inviting artists to submit
2D artworks inspired by a piece of music, lyric or a musical artist. This
could be a fantasy album cover for a favourite artist or an interpretation of
a song or lyric. You may interpret in photography, painting, print, drawing,
graphics, comic strip, collage or whatever medium you choose as long as it's
12"x12" and 2D (check the submission rules for full details).

The Exhibition: 100 works will be selected from the entries over two rounds
and wall hung at 3 shows: a central London venue for 6 weeks Dec-Jan followed
by a further show and a weekend event/music festival in Brighton in May 09
followed by a final show and the announcement of the selected Number 1. Two
of the Venues are music-related with musicians and music industry
representatives working and visiting - there is a guaranteed large audience
for these venues.

The work will be judged by well-placed representatives from art galleries,
music, photography and design backgrounds. The judges will select a top 20
for each round that will be given additional promotion both on our upcoming
website to be launched along with the first show and at the shows themselves.
There will be private views at selected venues. The promotion of the shows
will be accompanied by a free CD of unsigned bands' music.

Visit the website for more information and be sure to read the downloadable
submissions page for deadline details.
