The CADQAS NETWORKING PROJECT in association with the Qualitative
Innovations in CAQDAS project (QUIC) funded by NCRM holds seminars from
time to time previewing new technologies and new software. The next one
is to be held on:-

Seminar/presentation: "Preview of forthcoming release of ATLAS.ti v6.0"
Thomas Muhr will preview selected features of ATLAS.ti 6. (see brand new
features below) Cesar Cisneros will join with Thomas in discussing the
methodological aspects of the convergence of CAQDAS (including ATLAS.ti)
with GIS tools

New features of ATLAS.ti 6 to be demonstrated/discussed:
Timed text (multimedia)

- Transcription support within ATLAS.ti. This includes:
- Synchronized view and navigation of multiple documents (e.g. one video
and its transcript) Markup of transcripts with time marks during
listening using the F4 and F8 buttons!-)
- User assigned names for synchronizations
- Import of F4 transcripts (F4 is free transcription software)
- Native PDF Support

Import pdf files and preserve the full format in ATLAs.ti
GeoCoding
==========
ATLAS.ti, the semantic controller for geo data as accessed through
Google Earth or Google Maps. Just like you would code text, images,
audio & video, you can now code, comment and link any location at any
view.the World as a Document
Co-occurrence
=============
- A new interactive Co-occurrence of codes Table.
- (if time allows) Ongoing development of the 'Timed Text' function, the
sycnhronisation of two or more documents (e.g. multimedia and
transcript) at certain positions or time points.
