Hi
Can you please include this in the next CAB.
Thanks
Velma Hather
Dear all,
InSite 2009 CPD for teachers and museum professionals.
Following a very successful 2008 course, applications are now open for InSite
2009, an exciting and inspiring cpd programme run by Their Past Your Future
at the Imperial War Museum. The programme is open to all teachers, museum
educators and other education and museum, libraries and archive professionals
and research students. For more details about the themes and itinerary and to
download an application form and guidance notes, go to www.theirpast-
yourfuture.org.uk/InSite
The closing date for applications is 27 February 2009.
InSite focuses on the impact of conflict in the twentieth century with an
emphasis on Post-1945 Europe and the Cold War. As well as subject
knowledge it aims to build awareness of the issues involved in the teaching of
controversial and sensitive subjects and build confidence in the delivery of
these subjects. It also aims to facilitate mutual learning exchanges between
teachers and other educators. In addition there is an element of training in
risk assessment, health and safety, itinerary planning and other practical
issues that arise from leading educational trips.
Like other Their Past Your Future programmes, most expenses of the
programme will be covered. InSite consists of a prep weekend in London,
overseas trips to Germany and the Czech Republic and to Budapest and a
follow-up weekend, also in London. Each participant will also complete a
project, relevant to their work area, as part of the course. Examples of the
projects completed in 2008, along with testimonies from programme
participants in 2007 and 2008 can be seen at www.theirpast-
yourfuture.org.uk/InSite
Please forward this to anyone that you think might be interested, it's a great
opportunity and the feedback from this year's participants has been
overwhelmingly positive. If you have any questions about the programme then
please email [log in to unmask] or contact me direct, off list.
Many thanks
Amy
