A Lecturer is required to take a key role on the Film and Television
Studies Programme (BA Hons Film & Television Studies, BA Hon Fil, BA
Hon Television Studies awards) based within the growing School of
Media in the Faculty of Media, Arts & Society. You will supply
particular expertise in theoretical and historical teaching of Film
and Television.
You will have a PhD in the subject area (or near completion) and
experience of teaching at HE level: successful candidates will need to
demonstrate a knowledge of two or more of the following:
Television Drama, Television History, Film History, Documentary
Filmmaking, Factual Television, Film and Television in the Global Age.
This post offers opportunities to teach theoretical units across all
three awards but to particularly develop units on the recently
validated BA Hons Television Studies award. You will also have the
opportunity to develop units within your particular specialist area.
Good communication skills, administrative capability and an ability to
motivate students are essential. The post is offered as a full-time
appointment. The appointee will also have the opportunity to develop
their Advanced Scholarship within a research active team.
