Dear all,
An event that will be of interest to many in MeCCSA. It is free and open
to all.

This year's Jay Blumler Lecture will be given by Professor Elihu Katz
from the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of
Pennsylvania. Katz is arguably the most significant living media
scholar, having written or co-written a number of seminal works
including Personal Influence, Media Events, Mass Media and Social Change
and Broadcasting in the Third World. The lecture, which will take place
in the Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall , University of Leeds on
Tuesday 9th December at 5pm will be on the theme of Katz's latest
study, The End of Television? It will be an unmissable event for anyone
interested in the social role of the media, the history of broadcasting
and contemporary political communication. The lecture will be followed
by a wine reception.
best wishes
