MLA London are please to be able to offer the following course:
Understanding online audiences for cultural heritage organisations
Date/Time: Thursday 19th March 2009 1000 - 1630
Venue: South Camden City Learning Centre, Charrington Street, London NW1 1RG
Increasing audiences are using the internet to help them choose what to see and where to go. In response to this museums are increasing their online presence and seeking to capture these audiences at their websites, either to engage them online, or to persuade them to visit the museum physically. But how can we understand our online audiences, and make sure that we are delivering what the potential audience wants?
This one day course will look at the some of the issues around online audiences and help museums understand how to understand them and the data they provide. The day will cover:
· Setting the Scene - What are the benefits of gathering and analysing data on our online audiences?
· Web statistics - What can we measure? And what is useful to analysis
· What tools organisations can use to collect web statistics (practical)
· Online questionnaires - what tools are available? What can we get from them? How to analysis them
· Combining data channels and developing strategy
The day has been designed to provide delegates with theoretical and practical knowledge and as such will be held at a computer lab in South Camden City Learning College.
Cost: £80 for organisations within London; £85 for organisations outside of London. There are 10 free places left for London museums on this course (priority will be given to non Hub and non National museums), these places have been funded by Renaissance London. All course papers are included in the price. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided
