I ran into this issue too on a 'yum update' of a current UI.
Perhaps log4cpp should just be removed from the current glite repositories, and
this issue should be noted in the release notes.
It is confusing (and annoying); it should not be in RPMS.externals if we are
required to get it from Dag.
FYI these are the current log4cpp RPMs at glitesoft.cern.ch:
$ find . -iname 'log4cpp*rpm' -ls
-rw-r--r-- .. 900126 Oct 7 06:40 ./generic/sl4/x86_64/RPMS.updates/log4cpp-0.3.4b-2.slc4.x86_64.rpm
-rw-r--r-- .. 899759 Jun 18 2007 ./generic/sl4/x86_64/RPMS.externals/log4cpp-0.3.4b-1.slc4.x86_64.rpm
-rw-r--r-- .. 899759 Oct 13 02:43 ./generic/sl4/x86_64/RPMS.release/log4cpp-0.3.4b-1.slc4.x86_64.rpm
-rw-r--r-- .. 882534 Oct 7 06:41 ./generic/sl4/i386/RPMS.updates/log4cpp-0.3.4b-2.slc4.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- .. 882374 Jun 18 2007 ./generic/sl4/i386/RPMS.externals/log4cpp-0.3.4b-1.slc4.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- .. 882374 Jun 18 2007 ./glite-WN/sl4/i386/RPMS.externals/log4cpp-0.3.4b-1.slc4.i386.rpm
cheers,
Denice
