You are invited to RNIB's forthcoming workshop on: Tackling health
inequalities in relation to sight loss - developing effective strategies
for groups most at risk.
This workshop aims to support and inform RNIB's future 5-year (2009-14)
strategy and programme of action towards reducing rates of avoidable
sight loss in groups that are most at risk, particularly minority ethnic
and low income groups.
Dr Ray Earwicker, DH Health Inequalities Unit, has confirmed, and will
talk about the DH strategy and programme for action on tackling health
inequalities.
Prof.James Nazroo has also confirmed and will talk about the
relationship between sight loss and socio-economic inequalities.
Andy Cassels-Brown and James Woodhead will highlight some of the public
health and prevention strategies being delivered by Leeds PCT.
There will also be presentations from the British Heart Foundation,
Diabetes UK, and Genetic Interest Group, on some of their strategies
towards tackling health inequalities.
This workshop will be held on Wednesday 21st January 2009, 9.30am -
4.45pm, at the Institute of Physics (76 Portland Place, London W1B 1NT).
