The Library and Museum of Freemasonry is an independent charitable trust
and registered museum with Designated status, responsible for a diverse
collection of documents, books and objects associated with the history of
freemasonry.
Supported by the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys, we are undertaking a
project to catalogue a unique collection of eighteenth to twentieth century
documents relating to the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls, founded in 1788,
and the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys, founded in 1798. The collections
include early registers of pupils, subscribers’ records and documents relating to
the management and properties occupied by present and former Masonic
schools located at Clapham Junction, Weybridge, Wood Green and Bushey.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced archivist to work alongside
existing staff and be responsible for creating new electronic catalogue records
to ISAD(G) standards. You will offer a relevant professional qualification,
cataloguing experience and informed knowledge of archival cataloguing
standards and demonstrate attention to detail, written and oral
communications skills and an ability to meet deadlines.
