With apologies to those who are not affected.
I wanted to inform those members who were unable to attend the Regional
Meeting yesterday that I will be standing down as Chair at the AGM in
April. Many colleagues will know that I have had two roles at the Halle
for a number of years now, archivist and also a fundraising role within
the Development department. As of 1 December, following a
re-structuring, I will be spending virtually all my working time within
Development, with responsibility for Trusts, Foundations and other
grants' fundraising and developing the legacy campaign. Although I will
be retaining a 'watching brief' over the archive, I will rarely deal
with archive matters on a day to day basis. I will be keeping up my
membership of the Society, but after much thought I have decided that it
will more appropriate for someone else to represent the Region as Chair,
particularly at this important time. I have enjoyed the role very much
and assure you that I will continue it to the full between now and April
- but wanted to allow plenty of time for members to consider whether or
not they would like to take it on. Please feel free to get in touch if
you think you would like to!
On a personal note, it feels a little strange to be stepping back from
the world of archives - but as I have said to more than a few people
recently, after nearly twenty years perhaps it is time I did something
else!
Kind regards
Eleanor Roberts
