3.4 Open Educational Resources – Opportunities and Challenges for
Higher Education
Developed to support the upcoming JISC Open Content calls this
briefing paper by Li Yuan, Sheila MacNeill and Wilbert Kraan of JISC
CETIS explores the background to the current development of and future
trends around Open Educational Resources. The briefing paper is

3.5 Exploring e-Assessment: A practitioner's perspective
An article by Helen Ashton which explores the benefits and challenges
at each stage of the e-assessment life cycle from what to assess to
how to measure student performance. The 9 page article is available

3.6 ALT member Russell Stannard (University of Westminster) won the
Times Higher award for "Outstanding Initiative in ICT". His website
http://www.teachertrainingvideos.com has walk through training videos
that show teachers how to use different types of technologies
including podcasts, iTunes, Blackboard, and Second Life. The site was
only launched just over a year ago, but it often gets 20,000 hits in a
month from teachers all over the world and the recently launched
newsletter that has 500 subscribers
Just 5 months ago, after the success of the first site, Russell
Stannard launched a second site with free multimedia training videos
for anyone interested in learning about multimedia called
http://www.multimediatrainingvideos.com This site has become just as
successful and in term time reaches up to 60,000 hits a month.
