The Department of Epidemiology, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The
Netherlands, has the following vacancies:
PhD and Post-Doc position
Modern molecular techniques of high-throughput genotyping, sequencing
and phenotyping bring the promise to
disentangle the complexity of human health and disease. These high-
throughput techniques generate large
amounts of data, whose analysis is a major challenge to modern
bioinformatics and statistical genomics.
Job description
You will work on development of methods and software for high-
throughput analysis of genomic and phenomic
data, including genome-wide association analysis. In collaboration
with other group members, you will work on
the application of already existing and newly developed methods to
analysis of multiple health-related complex
human traits.
Requirements
A candidate should have strong interest in genetics and biology of
complex traits and quantitative data analysis,
a natural sciences or mathematical background, and possess good
command of English. A candidate should be
enthusiastic, accurate, flexible and able to work in a team. Expertise
in programming and statistical analysis is
strongly recommended. Experience of work with large data sets, and
