Colleagues, this week saw the advent of Europeana - a new multimedia online library, giving access to over two million items from national libraries and cultural institutions of the Member States. Unfortunately, heavy traffic has crashed the site, so a limited version only is currently available at http://dev.europeana.eu
Plus, as snow starts to fall, the Commission publishes a Communication on the EU and the Arctic Region', together with reports on:
- applying Community law
- State Aid
- employment
Further details at www.eia.org.uk
And for those of us who might worry that we don't always understand EU documentation, fear not - neither does the Commission, as this line from the page http://ec.europa.eu/environment/waste/ships shows: "On 19 November 2008 the Commission adopted a Communication on "An EU Strategy for better ship dismantling". Disclaimer: The binding text of the Communication will be the one to be published in the OJ."
Looks like someone doesn't know that COMs are no longer published in the OJ .
Regards,
Eric
