LOL! that poem is wonderful!
Houseboating is a very attractive idea, I have to say that even though I
lived on a boat I don't think I ever appreciated what the presence of water
does for your life until these past three years where I have been in the
desert of the American Southwest. I am gearing up to a return to the east
coast and all I can think about is the feel of the ocean in the air, even
when you can not see it.
I'll have to think but I know there are some houseboat communities on some
of the larger lakes here and I think in the Gulf. Of Course, there are the
keys and then Amsterdam. The keys I really recommend, the water there is
just perfect for it. I know if you google "houseboat vacations" you should
be able to start finding ones to rent to try it out.
I used to go to Europe (and the UK) fairly frequently but haven't been in
about 15 years. Lived for four years in Korea and always return to Canada.
I have not seen a bathtub in years except for brief visits to friends and
hotel rooms. I could write an 'ode to a bathtub' if I were so inclined,
they are such vaunted luxury items. Although, these days, given enough
money, RVs can come with bathtubs, jacuzzi and believe it or not -
fireplaces.
