Rowena's reply aside (;-), the difference seems to be that 'goals' are to do with PDP & one's career (or they're 'patient-centred'): 'interventions' are more to do with the physical process of nursing, and the positive results therefrom.
If that makes sense! I have only common sense & a reading of the literature titles, to support this thesis...

Subject: [LIS-MEDICAL] Nursing goals or Nursing Interventions?
Good Afternoon,
Can anyone help me? I am part of a Nursing Documentation Group and we have been told we cannot use the term "goals" but have to use the term "interventions" instead. Does anyone know the rationale behind this? We believe it is from a UKCC document.
I would be grateful if anybody could shed any light on this.
Regards
Cathryn James

Apply to become a member of your local Hospital !
Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust is applying to become a Foundation Trust and we want to recruit 4,000 members (who can be either patients or members of the public) from the local community to have a say in how the Trust is run and help shape the future of the hospital for the next 20 years. Members can:
* Help influence decisions about future plans for the development of the Trust.
* Support the work of the Trust and receive regular newsletters.
* Stand for election to the Council of Governors and work with the Trust Board to ensure that the Trust delivers services that reflect the needs of the local community.
If you feel you don't have the time to get too involved then that is fine - we can just send you information about our services so that you can keep up to date with our plans. We are reassuring all of our members that the level of commitment required as a member is entirely up to them and there are absolutely no fees or subscriptions.
Applying is very easy and will only take a couple of minutes. You can apply for membership online at: http://www.meht.nhs.uk/foundation-trust/apply-online/.
