Using the file you sent me, if I do:
% linplot ngc2264_avspec'(-20.0:20.0)'
I get a plot with +20 km/s at the left edge and -20 km/s at the right
edge, as expected. You could try "rm ~/adam/linplot.sdf; rm
~/agi*.sdf" before you run linplot. If this does not fix it, can you
tell me what screen output is produced by
% ndftrace avspec'(-20.0:20.0)'
