It has to take place before calculation as otherwise, a mean of
non-corresponding brain regions would result (apart from a number of
error messages :) So,
1. normalize all your anatomicals, using the same settings (bounding
box, resolution, etc.)
2. Click on ImCalc
3. For input images, select all your normalized T1 images
4. For output name, select something more meaningful than output.img
5. For expression, enter mean(X)
6. Under options, click on Data matrix, select, YES, read images into matrix
7. Click run
This may not work if you have a large number of images due to memory
issues, but it is a good way to start. If it does not work, let me know.
