Biosciences Federation Education Colloquium: Biology Outreach in Schools
October 28th 2008, National Science Learnig Centre, York
The Colloquium will focus on the outreach and enrichment provision
offered to schools and colleges by the biology community. Delegates
will be able to explore outreach opportunities and resources that are
currently offered to schools and work together to develop new
approaches.
To encourage input from school teachers, we are also offering a
residential CPD pre-event on 27th October. Teachers / FE lecturers in
maintained educational institutions in the UK attending this extended
event are eligible for a generous 'ENTHUSE' award of £717. (The course
fee, including meals and accommodation is £317+VAT). Teachers will be
able to try out a new web resource to support practical biology,
participate in an interactive outreach activity around a topical
scientific debate and discover a novel way of teaching evolution in
the classroom.
