This full time post is funded until September 2011 in the first instance with the possibility of an extension if further funding is found. This is a key new role within UCL, London's Beacon for Public Engagement.

The postholder will also work on pilot projects commissioned by the Unit, working closely with UCL's Beacons partners: the SouthBank Centre, the British Museum, Birkbeck College, City and Islington College, the Cheltenham Science Festival and Arts Catalyst.
We are seeking someone who combines excellent administrative and organisational skills with a commitment to academic-public engagement and experience of working in and beyond an academic environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with a variety of colleagues and across a number of disciplines. S/he will be sensitive to the climate within Higher Education Institutions, but also knowledgeable about best practice in public engagement. The successful candidate may have worked outside universities for a number of years following their degree. The ability to maintain successful partnerships is essential.
