Research Assistant/Associate in Healthcare Modelling

Salary: £22,332 - £33,780 per annum
The postholder will work within Health Economics and Decision Science
undertaking mathematical modelling that has a direct impact on improving
health and reducing inequalities. Clients will include NICE, NIHR and
the healthcare industries and work will focus upon health technology
assessment, service delivery and decision support to the NHS. The work
will involve building mathematical models, interpreting and
disseminating results and conclusions from the research. There will be
opportunities for developing new modelling methodologies and for
teaching of mathematical modelling methods. Applicants should have a
relevant post graduate qualification (or equivalent experience) and have
experience in specific modelling methodologies and software. This post
is available immediately and is initially funded until 30 April 2011
with the possibility of further funding.

Research Associate/ Fellow in Healthcare Modelling

The postholder will work within the Health Economics and Decision
Science Section providing mathematical modelling support on a range of
applied policy and methodological research. Clients will include NICE,
NIHR and the healthcare industries and work will focus upon health
technology assessment, service delivery and decision support to the NHS.
The work will involve building mathematical models, interpreting and
disseminating results and conclusions from the research. The postholder
will be required to lead multi-disciplinary research teams and
contribute to teaching of modelling methods. The successful candidate
will be supported in developing their own areas of research interests,
and encouraged to collaborate with colleagues in ongoing areas of
methodological development. This post would be suitable for applicants
with a post graduate qualification in a numerate subject (or equivalent
experience) and who have experience in specific modelling methodologies
and software. This post is available immediately and is initially funded
until April 2011 with the possibility of further funding.
