Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in theoretical
chemistry in the group of Prof. Kenneth G. Kay at Bar-Ilan University. The
project will focus on the development of semiclassical methods for treating
the dynamics and structure of atomic and molecular systems.
The postdoctoral research may involve one or more of the following topics:
development of initial value representation (IVR) treatments for rotational
motion and 3D molecular collisions, IVR calculations of atomic and molecular
electronic structure, development of methods to enable IVR calculations of
tunneling dynamics in multidimensional systems, and investigation of novel
semiclassical techniques for treating chaotic scattering.
A candidate should have a strong background in quantum and classical
mechanics and be skilled at computer programming. Specific experience with
semiclassical approximations is an advantage. The position is available
immediately. The initial appointment will be for a 12-month period but may
be renewed by mutual agreement. Interested applicants should send a CV, a
