Masterclass with Amedeo Giorgi
Descriptive Phenomenological Psychological Method
10th & 11th November 2008
Bournemouth University
This workshop will present the theory and practice of the phenomenological psychological method. Some basic concepts of phenomenology will be introduced and the method to be employed will be described and there will also be opportunity for hands-on work.
Special emphasis will be given to the description of structures. While psychology will be the emphasis in the workshop, the method is in principle applicable to any human science, by a shift in attitude, where descriptions by participants are available.
Benefits of Attending the Masterclass:
The course will be of benefit to a broad range of health and social care practitioners, as well as psychologists and social scientists. The Masterclass will allow participants to explore the methodology in both theoretical and practical ways. As such, structured presentations will be attended with practical exercises and discussions. The class provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience from a leading authority in the field and allows time for participants to network amongst their colleagues.
