Fixed term contract for 1 year
SCIRIA (Sensory Computer Interface Research and Innovation for the
Arts) is a respected research unit exploring artists' creative
practice and the way artists interact with technology. It is a vehicle
to encourage debate around science, art and technology-related
research in the arts.
This is a great opportunity to work for one year with an enthusiastic
research team investigating digital and interface technology, bringing
your own ideas to the role. We will provide encouragement and support
for essays, papers, conference attendance and any other new
initiatives you may come up with.
We are looking for an academic or practitioner working in
technology-assisted art with an interest in new media art theories,
interdisciplinary art and science. Your PhD or equivalent will be
accompanied by a proven track record of publications or exhibitions
and experience of grant applications.
As well as carrying out and documenting ongoing research, you will
work on grant applications and contribute to workshops, exchanges and
publications. You will also help the team disseminate their research
to an international audience and propose and develop collaborative
projects across UAL.
In return, we offer a competitive employment package including a
salary that reflects working in London; generous annual leave; a final
salary pension scheme; and a commitment to your continuing personal
and career development in an environment that encourages creativity,
diversity and excellence. Relocation assistance is also available.
