Narrative Non-Narrative Anti-Narrative:
A Conference on Film and Narrative Structure
Sunday 23rd and Monday 24th November
The Watershed,
1 Canon's Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5TX
How have new audiences, creative techniques and platforms altered the
meaning and use of media narrative? Is the merging of online and offline space
changing the relationship between author and audience? How are new
technologies radically transforming our media ecology?
Immediately following the 2008 Encounters Film Festival, Narrative/Non-
Narrative/Anti-Narrative seeks to examine these questions and more, drawing
on world-class practitioners, academics and critics involved in the making and
critical evaluation of film and new media forms from festival shorts to virtual
reality worlds.
The University of the West of England, the BBC, Hewlett-Packard, Encounters
Film Festival and i-Shed invite all with an interest in the future of film narrative
to attend and debate the changing nature of the medium. Come and join a
dynamic mix of creative and industry practitioners and academic specialists, at
the Watershed, in the heart of Bristol.
2-day ticket £80 Concessions/Students £40 1-day ticket £40
