Dear all,
I should point out that 'SPECTRUM Compliant' is a trademark of the Collections Trust, and no vendor can assert that it's software is compliant with SPECTRUM unless it has been through a formal process of validation, which Past Perfect hasn't.
We do this because a number of systems have wrongly advertised themselves as being compliant with SPECTRUM in the past (noting that Past Perfect is not one of them) and we need to ensure that people are clear on what they are buying.
A full list of the Collections Management Systems that have either achieved compliance or are currently undergoing validation is provided on the Collections Trust website at http://www.collectionstrust.org.uk/software/
This isn't intended as any comment on Past Perfect, as David says, I'd be interested to hear more about the system from existing users or people who have considered procuring it. Equally, if anyone from Past Perfect is on the list, we'd love to talk to you about SPECTRUM compliance!
While I'm emailing, we are giving some thought to a Conceptual Reference Model validation service. We'd really like to hear from anyone in the UK or internationally who has deployed CRM 'in the wild' and is interested in the idea of a compliance web service.
Best regards,
Nick

Ladies and Gentlemen,
A small number of museums in this country use a system that is
repute to be the most widely used in the World - probably because it is so
very widely used in the US and Canada - and it is quite cheap, has no limit
on the number of records, is SPECTRUM compliant and fully Anglicised. The
Demo version is fully functional but - as below - is limited to 200 records.
I am Chairman of a small Museum and don't work for any Software Company! I
am - over a number of years of use - very impressed by Past Perfect and I do
have a few Demo discs available if anyone wishes to contact me off-List.
Anyone interested - I look forward to some e-mails!
