Dear All,
For this week's cosmology seminar we will have David Bacon:
Getting More out of Graviational Lensing
I will describe some new avenues for exploiting weak gravitational
lensing. The use of detailed galaxy shape information, beyond mere
ellipticities, can provide constraints on the dark matter distribution
on small scales. In addition, the use of radio image data in combination
with optical data can further improve cosmological measurements from
lensing. I'll discuss some consequences for tests of modified gravity
and the interpretation of gravity wave data.
The seminar will be at 12 noon in H503, after which we will go to lunch
with David.
May I also add that I have seen a shorter version of this talk and it is
very interesting.
Cheers,
Paniez
